How Mindfulness Can Improve Health-6 Easy Tips

Mindfulness has become a main-stay in modern society. From the late schools of thought such as the Stoics, the Buddhist monks, and eventually teachers like Eckhart Tolle and Oprah Winfrey talking about this important subject matter and its profound benefits to your daily life, we can see why mindfulness is popular. This blog will explore how mindfulness fits into being happy and how it can create a sense of confidence, peace, and tranquility.

WHAT IS MINDFULNESS?

Living mindfully means being in the present moment and allowing yourself to enjoy the world around you. It can be challenging to live in the moment as our minds are constantly racing, thinking about things that have happened or may happen in the future. Mindfulness is something that can be learned and practiced over time, but it is well worth the effort.

HISTORY OF MINDFULNESS

Mindfulness is a practice that has been a way of life for thousands of years. Many cultures have practices that promote mindfulness in early childhood training. In Eastern philosophies such as Buddhism and Hinduism, mindfulness is used to achieve inner peace through meditation and other spiritual practices. In Western culture, mindfulness was first used as a therapeutic technique by Jon Kabat-Zinn who used mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) to help patients cope with chronic illness or pain.

WAYS TO PRACTICE MINDFULNESS

There are several ways to practice mindfulness including:

Focus on your breath – When you are feeling stressed or anxious take a few minutes to focus on your breathing. Focus on inhaling and exhaling slowly and deeply until you feel calmer.

Create a mindful space – You can create a space in your home or office where you can go when you want to relax or meditate. This could be a corner of your bedroom or office that has nothing else in it.

Choose healthy beauty products - You can choose cosmetics for better health, and naturally feel calmer about the products you use and begin to feel much more confident.

Eating Right - Balanced meals rich in nutrition can contribute to your mindful journey. By eating healthy and nutritious foods that are packed full of vitamins and minerals, our skin reflects a healthy glow, and we are more positive and balanced.

HOW TO BE MORE MINDFUL

Being mindful of your presence in any situation can help you get in touch with your deeper emotions. When we're mindful, we don't just experience something; we experience it completely. We are fully present in the moment, and as a result, we can be more aware of our feelings and thoughts. Mindfulness is a skill that can be practiced anywhere and at any time — even if it's just for a few minutes at a time.

To become more mindful, try these tips:

Observe the world around you. Take time to notice things as they are happening around you. Notice colors, shapes, sounds and smells — even if they're unpleasant. Pay attention to what makes you feel good or bad about something. Be curious about everything around you!

Be aware of your body's physical sensations from moment to moment throughout the day. Notice when your stomach gets upset or butterflies appear in your stomach before going into an important meeting at work or having an important conversation with someone close to you. These physical sensations are called somatic markers — they indicate how we feel on an emotional level without us realizing it at first glance or without knowing why exactly it happens (this is where mindfulness comes in).

CONCLUSION

The connections we have drawn between mindfulness and our fast-paced lives may be hard at first. But we can take steps to develop a practice where mindfulness becomes who we are and how we contribute positive energies during the day. Take a moment to remind yourself you are special, beautiful, unique, and in touch with who you are.
