Nano-particles

Nanoparticles are between 1 and 100 billionths of a meter in size. There is growing concern about the interaction of nano-particles with human health and their effects on the environment. The risk of pollution from nano-particles and associated health problems to those involved in manufacturing these materials as well as to consumers using these products is unknown.

Scientists are concerned about the possible health risks of inhaled nano-particles and nano-particles absorbed through the skin. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more research is needed on the human health risks associated with exposure from commercially engineering nano-materials as well as risks associated with consumer use of products containing nano-particles.
