"Dedicated to Clean Cosmetics and Personal Care Products" COASTAL CLASSIC CREATIONS, A California Corporation, is committed to the development of innovative cosmetics and personal care products made without carcinogenic toxicants or any toxicants, which are known or which are suspected of causing harm to all forms of life. The risk that cosmetics and personal care products may pose to the consumer is generally unknown due to the limited information available to the general public regarding exposure and the lack of studies on potential health effects. Further shrouding the cosmetics industry is unregulated interpretation by manufacturers of Federal law in the United States, which requires cosmetics to be "substantiated for safety". Without a mechanism in place to strictly enforce complete and accurate ingredient disclosure and stringent labeling requirements that include the long- and short-term health hazards that may result from an ingredient's use, the manufacturer is free to make their own determination, leaving the door open for the pursuit of profit to take precedence over the sanctity of health. The guiding principle of Coastal Classic Creations is research and its comprehensive findings, not rhetoric and its hidden consequences. We offer factual information garnished from Material Safety Data Sheets, Scientific Abstracts, toxicology reports and databases, and sources, including the United States National Library of Medicine, listed at our Information & Research page. These pages outline what personal care products and cosmetics "do" contain, not what they "may" contain. Using high quality, simple ingredients, such as 100% USDA certified organic carrier and therapeutic essential oils; hand-collected, hot water extracted candelilla wax; water-washed and sun-dried clays; USDA certified organic palm, coffee, shea, cocoa, mango and orange butter; organic liquid soap; handmade hemp seed, oatmeal, and goat's milk soap; USDA certified organic, steam distilled organic floral waters; organic, PPD-free, metallic-free, salt-free Henna hair dye; biodegradable, anti-rash, non-irritating, unmodified cornstarch; pesticide-free, sewage-free, herbicide-free USDA certified organic hemp and cotton; and filtered, high purity cosmetic pigments purchased from and filtered here in the United States, we have been able to effectively eliminate any ingredient which scientific scholarship links to cell damage, cancer, birth defects, endocrine disruption, mutagenicity, reproductive harm, or neurotoxicity. This elimination includes, but is not limited to, nano-particles, parabens, phthalates, dioxins, chromium oxide green, zinc, lead, mercury, arsenic, cyanide, propylene glycol, formaldehyde leaching preservatives, botanical extracts, which contain theophylline (a vasodilator), Phenonip (a preservative), methane, acetone, and ethanol, boron nitride, titanium dioxide, mica, cosmetic powders such as L-Ascorbic acid, rice powder, and silk, isoprene glycol, sulfates, and adhesives. The use of these ingredients in the manufacturing of cosmetics and personal care products is not supported by our company philosophy. All of our products are EU Cosmetics Directive Compliant. We are signers of the Compact for Safe Cosmetics. We support the California Safe Cosmetics Act of 2005. We are members of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and The Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics Leaping Bunny Program. This coalition includes the American Anti-Vivisection Society, American Humane Association, Animal Alliance of Canada, Beauty Without Cruelty, Doris Day Animal League, The Humane Society of Canada, The Humane Society of the United States, MSPCA Center for Laboratory Animal Welfare, New England Anti-Vivisection Society, and the European Coalition to End Animal Experiments. Membership in these programs provides the best assurance that no animal testing is used in any phase of product development by the company, its laboratories, or suppliers. Coastal Classic Creations is committed to the protection of human health, the advancement of future generations, and the safekeeping of our environment. |
