The American Cancer Society recommends henna as a viable safe alternative to conventional chemical hair dyes. Our henna is completely chemical free and is free of pesticides, metallic salts, herbicides, and all agri-chemicals. There are no compounds in our henna.  Henna provides deep rich color for the hair with an ability to cover gray.*  It will also leave your hair soft, shiny, and manageable without the burning and frying of the hair commonly associated with chemical dyes. Henna is a natural plant coloring for the hair; made from the powdered leaves of a desert shrub plant, Lawsonia.

Henna contains hannatannic acid which, when mixed with hot water, will coat the hair. It seals in oils and tightens the hair cuticle giving your hair a rich, healthy shine. Henna has no lightening action, so the shade that you choose will depend on your hair color (natural or tinted). It covers gray and its effects will last up to four to six weeks. Our henna comes prepackaged to you with full instructions on each packet. Despite your hair color, you will get a unique color based on your own natural pigment as it bonds to proteins in your hair. Henna does not chemically alter hair.  This product can be used on previously-color-treated hair. We do suggest waiting 2-3 weeks before or after any chemical treatments.

Pure Henna is red and to that botanicals are added to achieve various colors. Certain leaves are used to lighten certain Henna colors while others, such as Indigo, are used to darken it. The Indigo is a natural shrub in the legume family that thrives in dry and almost poor conditions.

*If you have quite a bit of gray hair (more than 10%), you may need to perform the henna application a second time sooner than four weeks.  Then,  after the second application, you can wait the four weeks before recoloring.

Short hair requires: 2-3 oz. or 56 grams to 85 grams

Medium length hair requires: 3-5 oz. or 85 grams to 141 grams

Long hair requires:  5-8 oz. or 141 to 226 grams
