Our approach to environmental responsibility focuses on practical choices we can maintain over time—centered on packaging, materials, sourcing, and daily operations. We believe luxury and environmental stewardship can coexist.

Packaging

We use streamlined packaging designed to protect product quality while reducing unnecessary materials.

  • Use recyclable and post-consumer recycled materials where feasible.
  • Incorporate compostable or reusable options for select components.
  • Avoid PVC in packaging and use recycled papers where possible.

Materials & Components

Containers and packaging components are selected with consideration for product stability, functionality, and consumer use.

  • Select tins and containers without BPA and phthalates where possible.
  • Use aluminum-free, food-grade, or PP (#5) plastics for applicable items.
  • Choose cosmetic pigments and colors that meet our Cosmetic Colorant Standard.

Sourcing

We work with suppliers whose practices align with our standards for quality, transparency, and environmental responsibility.

  • Do not intentionally source ingredients linked to deforestation.
  • Aim to avoid genetically engineered inputs in cosmetic raw materials.
  • Seek suppliers with documented environmental and ethical standards.

Operations

From our Montara, California studio, we continually evaluate opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency.

  • Reduce shipping waste through recycled boxes and the reuse of clean packing materials when appropriate.
  • Use plant-based cleaning agents where practical.
  • Review materials and processes to help reduce lifecycle impact.
